Coaching stimulates you to think clearly about your purpose and the next steps required to move forward toward your goal.
Coaching is when someone comes along side you, considers where you are today and compares where you want to go in the future, helping you to move farther, faster.
Coaching is a form of adult learning, because the individual has a need to learn, understands and accepts the responsibility of putting new practices into place, and is ready to take responsibility for the process and the outcome. A coach mines the thinking of the individual so he or she clearly sees what’s needed for the future and then determines how to execute. The power of coaching is that an individual decides what to do with information, takes ownership, and welcomes accountability.
At Ministry Ventures, our approach is consultative coaching. We train through our written curriculum and then use a coaching approach during our calls. The ministry leader learns what needs to be put in place in each area and then determines how he or she is going to proceed so the ministry will be supported by systematic best practices.
