Boyd Bailey enjoys the role of Chief Encouragement Officer at Ministry Ventures, a company he co-founded in 1999. His passion is to encourage and equip leaders engaged in Kingdom focused enterprises. Since 2004 he has also served as President and founder of Wisdom Hunters, a ministry that seeks to connect people to Christ through devotional writing—with over 105,000 daily email readers.
Ministry Ventures has trained approximately 1,000 faith-based non-profits and coached for certification over 200 ministries in the best practices of prayer, board development, ministry model, administration and fundraising. By God’s grace over $100 million has been raised through the ministries served and thousands of people led into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Prior to Ministry Ventures, Boyd was the National Director for Crown Financial Ministries. He was instrumental in the expansion of Crown into 30 major markets across the U.S. He was a key facilitator in the $25 million merger between Christian Financial Concepts and Crown Ministries.
Before his work with Crown, Boyd and Andy Stanley started First Baptist Atlanta’s north campus, and, as an elder, Boyd assisted Andy in the start of North Point Community Church. In college he bought a service company with five employees. This business endeavor financed his education and the equity from its sale was the economic launching pad for his graduate school experience.
Boyd Lee Bailey was born in 1960, in Huntsville, Alabama and received his bachelor of arts from Jacksonville State University and his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Boyd and his wife Rita live in Roswell, Georgia. They have been married 34 years and are blessed with four daughters and three sons-in-law who love Jesus. He and Rita are most excited about new grandchildren Lillian (4) Hudson (2), Emmeline (1) and Harrison (5 months)!
Boyd serves on the boards of Ministry Ventures, Wisdom Hunters, Atlanta Mission, Souly Business and Blue Print for Life. He and his wife Rita join four other couples every two weeks for accountability and fellowship around their marriages. Boyd enjoys reading the classics, business trends, theology, and digital news, books and magazines. He and Rita like to hike, travel, sit by the fire in the mountains, enjoy a cup of coffee at home and walk on the beach. Missions, travel and college football are passions as well. What’s most enjoyable is to get quiet before the Lord in prayer and Bible reading.
