“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” –Proverbs 29:18 KJV

Your Ministry is UNIQUE.

You have a vision. You have carefully birthed your ministry or service into what it is today, and you’d like to take the next step into defining how and what it will look like. There’s good news and bad news:

  • The Bad: No matter how much research goes into studying church leadership or ministry basics, there is simply no way to confine your ministry to a simple, step-by-step process or a list of “to-do’s.” There is no substitute when it comes to individually looking at your ministry and growing it with your vision and desired direction in mind.
  • The Good: A comprehensive, systematic approach to ministry development sets leaders up for success. Ministry Ventures seeks to partner with men and women like you who understand the importance of carefully growing, developing, and crafting a ministry that uniquely executes all the desired goals you have laid out.

Now, let’s look at one of the most basic tools we will use to empower you in becoming one of the most effective leaders in today’s ever-changing, consumer culture:

The Ministry Model

What is Ministry Model?

Simply, Ministry Model defines the unique calling and desired outcomes of the ministry. Ministry Model addresses the following:

  • Why do you exist? (The vision, mission, and strategy of the ministry)
  • What programs will you implement to execute the mission?
  • How will you effectively measure program effectiveness and human impact?

Ministry Model gauges the effectiveness of your program execution.

For the sake of your ministry staff, donors and, most importantly, those you aim to serve, Ministry Model defines and protects. It will help prevent the organization from moving in directions outside the scope of influence clearly defined in your vision and mission. It protects resources and energy being used outside defined parameters.

As you can see, Ministry Model is a foundational aspect of your ministry.

How Do I Craft Our Ministry Model?

Crafting a Ministry Model is an exciting process. It’s the first practice we dive into in our ministry leader coaching. We ask key questions to clarify important areas regarding your ministry or service:

  1. Who you will serve?
  2. What you will provide?
  3. How do you plan to accomplish it?

We also look at the motivations and values God has placed on your heart to ensure they are integrated into the culture of the organization. Having a like-minded ministry expert or advisor to help guide this process is crucial.

Donors frequently look for clarity before partnering with you. And we know that it is not easy to convert a vision to a complete step-by-step process for execution. That is why Ministry Ventures’ process of crafting your Ministry Overview is designed to provide coaching throughout the process to help clearly define the strategy.

Action Step

We recently partnered with Choose to Invest, a ministry dedicated to making disciples through transformative experiences. They are an excellent example of the result of the Ministry Model coaching we offer. It is a beautiful example of the direction that your ministry will be headed through Ministry Ventures.
