When a young woman learns that she is pregnant, the immediate future can seem scary and unsure. The mirage of control disappears into a desert of uncertainty. Amidst these fears, sadly, many choose abortion.

Thankfully, however, there are thousands of organizations dedicated to ministering to and encouraging expecting mothers to embrace the new life inside of them and carry the baby to full term.

One such ministry is Community Pregnancy Clinic in Simi Valley, California. Founded in 1990 as Crisis Pregnancy Center, CPC provides a number of services. They offer pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and STD/STI testing, all at no cost. They also provide post-abortion counseling to encourage healing and restoration for women in need of intentional and loving Christian care. Their facilities include the clinic along with a mobile ultrasound unit that drives to areas of need that are harder to reach.

As of 2016, the brick-and-mortar and mobile clinics helped an average of 77% of at-risk women choose life. They conducted 592 client visits and 509 ultrasounds.

CPC is also excited about an upcoming event. Their annual benefit dinner is scheduled for Friday, October 20th at the Grace Brethren Church in Simi Valley. According to Executive Director Jan Lackey, “We will be sharing client testimonials and our keynote speaker will be Scott Klusendorf, founder and president of the Life Training Institute (LTI).” Lackey continued that Klusendorf is “expecting to challenge and equip all in attendance to be pro-life advocates able to defend their views in the public square.”

CPC also hopes to raise more awareness through their new video, produced for them by The Church at Rocky Peak.
